Electrical damage to an AC system is one of those problems that can catch homeowners completely off guard. The system was running fine - then another contractor came out for unrelated work, nicked a wire, and suddenly the AC is dead. That's exactly what we walked into on this one.

The disconnect box - that's the gray electrical enclosure mounted right on the exterior wall next to the unit - is what feeds power to the outdoor condenser. When the wiring going into it gets damaged, the system simply won't run. No error codes, no obvious signs inside the house. It just stops. Tracking that down and fixing it correctly takes someone who knows both HVAC and the electrical side of the system.

We got in, found the damaged wire, and got everything repaired and back up to spec. The Goodman condenser was in solid shape otherwise, so once the electrical issue was resolved, the system fired right back up with no additional problems.

This kind of repair is a good reminder that AC electrical issues aren't always the result of a failing system. Sometimes outside work - landscaping, general contracting, even pest control - can accidentally disturb wiring. If your AC suddenly stops working after someone's been working around your home, that's worth mentioning when you call for service. It helps us zero in on the problem faster.

At Willingham Heating and Air, we handle all kinds of AC electrical trouble - from damaged wiring and disconnect issues to full equipment replacement when the situation calls for it. We work weekends too, because a dead AC doesn't care what day it is.
